Welcome to Chewy Ferret — A Place for People Who Love Ferrets

If you’ve ever shared your home with a ferret, you probably understand why it’s so easy to fall in love with them.

They’re curious, intelligent, affectionate, mischievous and endlessly entertaining. Every ferret seems to have a personality all its own—and after many years of having ferrets in my life, I still never get tired of watching them play, explore and find new ways to make me laugh.

That’s the inspiration behind ChewyFerret.com.

I originally created this site because I enjoyed finding unusual ferret gifts and collectibles. Over time, however, Chewy Ferret has grown into something more: a place where I can share my love of ferrets, useful information I’ve learned along the way, fun stories and photos of some of the ferrets who have been part of my life.

My Life With Ferrets

The ferrets you see throughout this page aren’t stock photos.

They’re my ferrets.

Those photos represent real memories—the funny moments, the mischievous moments, the sleepy ferret piles and all the little things that make living with ferrets so special.

Anyone who has owned ferrets knows that no two are quite alike.

One may be fearless and determined to explore absolutely everything.

Another may be a professional sock thief.

One wants to play.

Another wants to cuddle.

And occasionally you get a ferret who seems to believe that every cabinet, box, bag and tiny opening in your house exists solely for his personal investigation.

That’s part of their charm.

Why I Created Chewy Ferret

I wanted Chewy Ferret to be the kind of website I enjoy visiting myself—friendly, useful and fun.

Another reason Chewy Ferret began was my love of finding unusual ferret merchandise.

Ferret lovers know that finding great ferret-themed items isn’t always as easy as finding gifts for dog or cat lovers.

That’s what makes discovering something special so much fun.

Some items disappear quickly or are only available occasionally, which makes finding them feel a little like a treasure hunt.

Ferrets Are More Than Pets

For those of us who love them, ferrets have a way of becoming an important part of the family.

They make us laugh with their famous weasel war dance.

They steal things and hide them in places we would never think to look.

They can turn a cardboard box into the greatest toy ever invented.

And after exhausting themselves with all that mischief, they somehow manage to look completely innocent while sleeping in a hammock.

They aren’t the right pet for everyone, and they require knowledgeable care and commitment.

But for the right person, sharing your life with ferrets can be an incredibly rewarding experience.
